Our Tenters stayed in a KOA Kizy Kabin last night due to thunderstorms blowing through. Breakfast of cheerios, then striking camp in the rain. We missed our morning pictures because none of the dry folks wanted to get cold and wet like those prepping for the road.
We were driving through a moderately small town when we saw a sign for The West Texas Trail Museum! We slowed enough to take a photo of the museum just as a docent came out. She called out to us to park right there, and come on in. So we did!
We have not only run into rain, but the first COLD days of the trip. The high today hasn't reached 50*
If our travels go well, we will set up camp before dark. Supper will be pizza... while the adults may be tired of it, kids never seem to be! Tonight's version is home made, using up ingredients we had on hand... English muffins, jarred sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni. (Turkey pepperoni). We planned on Mt Rush-s'mores last night, but ran out of time to make them... so they are planned for tonight. Perhaps even hot cocoa.
We have seen mule deer, pronghorn, moose, elk, wild turkey, buffalo, and longhorn the past two days. We narrowly missed seeing a bear at the KOA.
